Guidance for motor vehicles

Driving a motorised vehicle such as a moped, motorcycle, ATV or snowmobile on off-road terrain is not part of everyone’s rights. Driving a motor vehicle in recreational areas is prohibited!

An exception to this rule is made for people with reduced mobility and their assistants, who may use motorised means of transport in off-road areas without special permission.

Caravans and similar vehicles must be parked in the marked parking areas. Overnight stays in vehicles are temporarily allowed for 1-2 nights. The exception is Sarviniemi and Hiitolanjoki where it’s forbidden to stay overnight!
