Muukonsaari Camping Centre
The former camping centre in the town of Joutseno offers the nostalgia of camping life and an experience of the island nature of Lake Saimaa. Muukonsaari is located close to the port of Joutseno and the open backwaters of the Great Lake of Saimaa. At the northern tip of the island is a grove protection area, which you can explore on a nature trail. The accommodation and sauna facilities at the Muukonsaari picnic centre are available for private use. The barbecue shelter and nature trail are open to the public free of charge.
Muukonsaari has 4 camping cabins, each of which can sleep 6 people. The cabins are equipped with a stove for heating, but otherwise the facilities are modest. The cabins offer paddlers, for example, a change from camping and a chance to dry out their equipment. The cabins are located on the edge of a grassy field in the middle of the site.
